About Wild Soul Serenity

Founded in 2024, Wild Soul Serenity (WSS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals heal, reconnect, and thrive through the restorative power of nature and holistic wellness. Our mission is to cultivate a sustainable sanctuary where Veterans, First Responders, creatives, and the wider community can find mental, emotional, and spiritual renewal.

Born from a deep desire to serve others, WSS was created with a vision of sustainability—reinvesting passive, residual income directly into the land and the people it supports. Nestled off-grid near Acadia National Park, our campground offers a unique blend of rustic wilderness and holistic healing experiences, giving guests the opportunity to unplug, realign, and rediscover themselves in nature.

We provide holistic services such as yoga, energy work, and therapy through three pathways:

  1. By request – Campers can book private wellness sessions during their stay.

  2. Resident practitioners – Wellness professionals host ongoing services onsite.

  3. Community events – WSS curates events that feature healing arts and mental wellness practitioners.

Our event space is open for rental and collaboration with local businesses, nonprofits, and community groups whose missions align with our values: fostering wellness, encouraging connection, and promoting holistic mental health.

In our inaugural season (2025), WSS will feature four primitive campsites, each with a fire pit and raised platform to accommodate uneven terrain. Guests will also have access to a woodland trail and shared bathroom facilities. Future plans include building cabins, expanding retreat offerings, and opening a small onsite store with locally made artisan goods and camping essentials.

We are especially committed to supporting Veterans and First Responders. In our first year, we’ll offer discounted camping and massage therapy, with future goals of providing free holistic services, family retreats, and specialty programs focused on mental wellness, team-building, and outdoor education. Planned activities include survival training, CPR certification, and integrative health workshops in partnership with medical professionals.

What sets WSS apart from traditional campgrounds is our focus on healing through nature. Whether guests come to fish in peaceful waters, meditate under the trees, participate in creative workshops, or simply connect with like-minded souls, WSS offers a truly transformative experience—where nature, creativity, and community come together.

As we grow, Wild Soul Serenity remains rooted in our core values:
Nature Immersion • Holistic Opportunities • Local Collaboration • Unwavering Support for Veterans & First Responders

This is more than a campground—it’s a movement for healing, unity, and soul-deep serenity.

About Kat

Kat Rogers – Founder of Wild Soul Serenity

Born and raised in Schenectady, New York, Kat Rogers grew up in a vibrant, hardworking family grounded in love, adventure, and service. With a Navy father often deployed, her childhood was shaped by resilience, joyful family outings, and an unwavering work ethic. Inspired by her father’s military legacy and fueled by her own “gung-ho” spirit, Kat enlisted in the Air National Guard in 2000—launching a remarkable 20-year military career that also included time in the U.S. Coast Guard.

Throughout her service, Kat held diverse roles including logistics, honor guard, security forces, loadmaster, and eventually Power Production in a Civil Engineering Squadron. Her assignments took her from the Arctic Circle to the Middle East, where she underwent elite training in cold weather operations, water survival, and tower climbing. Despite facing gender discrimination and challenging environments, her dedication to service, teamwork, and personal growth never faltered.

After retiring as a Staff Sergeant (E-6), Kat pursued a degree in Landscape Contracting, combining her creative eye with her love for the outdoors. But her path took a more personal turn. Driven by a passion for helping others heal, she became a licensed massage therapist specializing in pain management through techniques like therapeutic massage, cupping, lymphatic work, and medical massage.

That calling led to the creation of Wild Soul Serenity—a nature-based sanctuary in rural Maine that blends massage therapy, holistic healing, and the restorative power of the natural world. More than a wellness space, Wild Soul Serenity is a mission: a place for veterans, caregivers, and anyone seeking peace to reconnect, restore, and rediscover purpose.

Kat’s own healing journey through PTSD and depression, paired with her military discipline and artistic spirit, shaped the vision for a space where service and serenity coexist. While she occasionally misses the camaraderie of military life, she’s found a new tribe—one rooted in healing, nature, and the wild, soulful resilience that’s defined her path all along.
